There has been discussions on this on other sites. So I thought could bring it up here.
Why did you chose MK?
What does the Mary Kay way of doing business mean to you?
Do you recruit anything that breathes?
Do you warm chatter?
Share how you book your classes and how many classes do you book from the orginal class?
How do you close your classes?
Do you do one on ones?
How many times have you made star consultant?
I know that their are some that think that MK is a MLM I however don't see how they can say that. In MLM you buy your things from your upline not directly from the company. At MK we buy our products directly from MK corp so that makes us a retailer of that product. It really upsets me when people try to lump my business in with those. I think that those that think this should take a harder look at this and see that it is not a MLM.

OOO, Bren, I LOVE this topic! :D
Why did you chose MK?
I chose MK because after a very bad experience with Clinique, the Time Wise products made my face feel like a feminine face again. I had scarring from bad acne brought on by Clinique's skin care. MK fixed it. I decided it was a product I could sell in good conscience. I also like that in MK there is very little set up involved. Think of Partylite, Pampered Chef, Silpada, and Home & Garden Party. They have so much STUFF to haul around to appointments. I like that my demo setup pretty much fits into one large tote. Also, you can't get a better discount/sales commission than MK. 50% rawks!
What does the Mary Kay way of doing business mean to you?
"The Mary Kay Way" means doing business in the way that Mary Kay Ash described. I think that Mary Kay's autobiography should be read by anyone in this business. It is more than an autobiography. It is a training manual. I also highly recommend Mary Kay on People Management. It is out of print. It was available on Section 2 for a short time in 2003 or 2004.
The Mary Kay Way is listening to the people you are selling to and recruiting. It is NOT treating them like a number, but seeing they are PEOPLE. It is making them feel important and worth my time. It is seeing them as clients with needs and not customers with money.
Do you recruit anything that breathes?
H*** NO!!!! LOL 'nuff said. I don't want people on my team that don't want to work. If you drag them in you will drag them all the way and they will wind up resenting you and the biz.
Do you warm chatter?
No. I'm an introvert, however, my involvement in MK has made me like people more and has brought me out of my shell quite a bit. I prefer doing tables and booths at fairs and such. This way the people who want what I have can come to me. Ultimately, isn't that the way it should be? Why chase down people not knowing if they like MK or not? Why bother people who are trying to go about their daily business? I wear my pin and carry my on the go tote. People will ask me about MK if they want it.
Share how you book your classes and how many classes do you book from the orginal class?
Right now, I book my classes from leads I get at tables. I also book people by talking to them at work. They know what I do and order here and there so I ask them if they want to get together for a free trial. It works. I struggle with booking from classes. I am starting a new approach and will share soon!
How do you close your classes?
This is a weakness I'm working on.
Do you do one on ones?
Yes! Just did one today as a matter of fact! :)
How many times have you made star consultant?
3 or 4 times. Working on doing it this quarter!
Shades...those are great answers. I appreciate you coming and answering them. I think that if we put enough positive out there it will out weigh the negative.
I am weak on closing classes to but working on it.
The Mary Kay Way is a good book I bought the new addition and it has little exerts in it. I will probably read it again.
I to used Clinique and everything that I tried turned me ORANGE hehehe, so I started using MK.
I want to run an ethical business and will not recruit anything that breaths sell to them YES. I too want women on my team that want to work and make a better life for themselves.
Well have a good evening
Why did you chose MK?
Well I chose MK because the girl that introduced me to the company is absolutely amazing and I love her to death, reason #1. Reason #2, I used Wal-Mart brand since I was 13 and my skin was horrible so I figured anything is worth a try.
What does the MK way of doing business mean to you?
I just want be good to people and make them feel good about themselves. For most of my life, I struggled with self-esteem and I don't want anyone to experience it. Also, obviously I love the extra money!!!
Do you recruit anything that breathes?
No, I learned my lesson with that. I was a director for a short period of time and DIQ is tough but I handled it all wrong and trust me, it didn't get me no where. Now, I am not saying that I did anything unethical but some of my recruits, were like, my mom, sister, cousin, aunt,....people that didn't mind helping me out but had no interest in having a business and in the long run that hurts.
Do you warm Chatter?
Not really, I wish I could get the guts to do more but I am to scared of getting rejected.
As far as classes and closing them, I have been out of the loop for a little bit until recently but I am always looking for ways to simplify them. Closings are okay but I would most definately love to improve them.
Any ideas out there on any of this, please share!!!!!!!!
MKHeart...those too are great answers. I am not a director however I would like to be one and that is what I am working on. I know that my director in closing says Want Some. This is a little joke in our unit. As I do more classes I will share my closings. If anyone esles wants to share please feel free to do so.
I just want everyone to know that I love my MK business and I love doing my MK business.
So we just need to work our business the MK WAY and I am reading the book the new addition and I suggest that everyone read it. I am reading it again. So if you have it read it and if you don't go and get it.
Have a GREAT DAY
Is this book you keep talking about written by Mary Kay Ash? If not, who is the author? I'm going to look for it. :D
Shades...Yes Mary Kay Ash wrote the book, this is a new version with little exerts from sales force and I think from her grandson that runs the company it is good. I am reading it again, read it two weeks ago. I just want to know the true MK way. The way that would make the owner of the company proud. I guess I am a little nerdy however I want the company that I represent to have a good name, and if I can help with that.
I don't think it's nerdy at all. I think EVERYONE should read Miracles Happen. Mary Kay isn't just writing about herself in that book. It is practically a training manual for being involved in this company.
Is The Mary Kay Way on Section 2? I'm going to look. :D
Thanks!!
The Mary Kay Way is not on Section 2. I happened to stumble upon it at Barnes and Noble one day. I definetly have to second Brens motion to read it! It is a very good book.
I found it on Amazon. I'll be ordering it in the very near future! ;)
