Well, there is a new post on another blog and it has a quote that it takes this consultant like 5 to 21 hours to do a SCC or a MK get together. Well my question is how long does it take you? I think that my average class takes about 2 hours from start to finish. I am not understanding how it could take someone 21 hours to do a class. I just don't understand it.
I know that there are things in any business that you don't get paid for however if you want your business to work you have to do these things. It is not just in MK it is in any business that you work. If I counted all the hours I did at my shop shoot I would be working 20 hours a day. Really this is silly I know I just want the average of each person and how long it takes.

STAR CONSULTANT
Well, we are 15 days away from the first quarter ending. Where are you? Have you made it to Star consultant this quarter?
We have 15 days to complete the goal that we have set for ourselves. Where are you with your goal? And remember that if you don't make it. You can always readjust and go for it.
I think that when setting a goal you should set it a little higher than what you expect and see what happens. The thing with goals is that they are adjustable, they are not written in stone.

PLANTING SEEDS
The title says it all. Are you planting seeds and watering them that will come back and make your business better? Are you handing out cards and telling people that you are in MK? I am not talking about warm chattering I am talking about people that you are talking to already. Do they know that you own a MK business?
I truly believe if we are working our business it will come around and be what we want it to be.

NEW SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS
Good morning!! Today starts a new school year for my girls. They go to a little school in the little town that we live in. With the start of school, we will have studies and test and the dreaded TAEKS test. We also have the start of sports. With the sports my attending MK meetings will end until after November the 4.
Anyway for those of you that pray please do so for the administrators of the schools all over the country. That they would lead in a firm however fair way. Pray for the teachers that they would have the patience that it takes to have our children learn what they need too. Pray for the kids that they will be willing to learn. Pray that those that are always in trouble would see that, that is not the way to go.
Since spankings are not allowed in our school anymore last year the cops were at the school at least 3 times a week taking kids off the campus to juvie hall. We live in the county seat so therefore it is here. Last year two 8th graders were pregnant and 2- 7th graders also. I think that we also need to pray that the moms and dads of these kids would become more involved with there kids.
I am asking those that pray please do so not just for our little school however for all schools all over the country. In my opinion that is the only thing that is going to help the schools.

WHAT DOES YOUR MK BUSINESS MEAN TO YOU
Hey, everyone I just wanted to know what your MK business means to you? I think that we sometimes need to stand back and look. Do we see that glass as half full or half empty? Do we get so disappointed that we just don't want to do it? With disappointment do we try and find the silver lining? I guess what I am asking is if the Lord closes a door do you look for a window?
I know that sometimes it takes everything that we have to pick up that phone and talk to someone. I am working on this, however I was thinking tonight if you do pick up that phone and call and the person says "NO" on the other end, does that end your phone contact for the day? I am asking this because this is the hardest thing for me is to get on the phone. Sitting here tonight thinking about this you know that person isn't really saying "NO" to me personally she is saying "NO" to the offering. I think that we need to look at it that they might not want to so they say "NO" however they can't take your joy or your birthday or anything else. I think what I am trying to get out is that we make our own joy and we shouldn't let someone else rob us of that. I know that I get a little annoyed with people and I am working on this, it is my responsibility to keep my joy. That person doesn't have the power to take that.
Talking to David who is my hubby today he said you know we need to think outside the box. We need to see the dream that we have and go for it. Don't let anything or anyone stand in our way. Just to get out there and do it. We have to know that we are worthy of having it all. We just have to make up our mind what we want and go for it and let nothing stop us from that. So I guess what I am asking is "What does your MK business mean to you", what do you want it to change in your life? What are you willing to do to make this happen? Are you willing to become a little uncomfortable for a short time to have it turn into something that can prosper you to where you want to be? I know this is long, as I am working out my own feelings here.

SETTING AND KEEPING GOALS
At our meeting last night our director is having us make our goals. I wasn't able to go to the meeting so I am going to her house today. With that said I would like for everyone to share their goals. I believe in my heart that if we write down were we want to go we will get there. It is like planning a trip if you don't have a plan you will never make it to your destination.
The thing with goals is that you set them and if you don't reach them there is no shame in that. You can always readjust them. You can set short term ones (weekly), not so short (monthly), a little longer (3 months), a little longer (6 months) little bit longer ( 1 year) and the a long one (2,3,4,5 years). I think that if you write it down it is more likely to happen. Then share it with someone (like here that will make you accountable for it), and we can discuss it at any time. How many of you went to Seminar?

I just wanted to add to the Mary Kay Way. I am reading the book for a second time, you know I think everyone in MK should read this book. It will give you an example of how Mary Kay Ash ran her business and how she wants the consultants to run theirs. From reading it the first time I believe that the Golden Rule this the most important thing in our business. You know if you put your feet in that other persons shoes.
MKA states that the heart of any company is it people that work for that company. You know that is so true. If your members of your team are not working then your company is not working. She gives an illustration of a company that bought a restaurant chain and then replaced all of the management team and guess what happened? That company starting failing so if you don't have people that love what they do they will not produce what the company needs produced.
If you don't know what to do in your MK business find someone that is successful and is where you want to go and pick their brain. Ask them exactly what they did to get where they are. I know that some will say book, sell and recruit. Pick their brain as to how to set those classes up what they actually did to set those classes. Ask them how they closed so that they received the sales that they did. Ask them how they booked classes from that class. Ask them how they offered the opportunity to that person that has an interest. Pick their brain and see how and what they did. That is not to say that you will do everything exactly word for word the way that they did, however you will have a guide as to what to do. If you haven't held any classes then ask you director or the person that recruited you to go to a class with you and ask for their opinion after. Now in the Mary Kay Way...Mary Kay says that we need to sandwich critizm in between praise. I believe this and I am working on it with my girls. I think that it is important.

STORM IS COMING
Good morning!! Well, I might not be posting for a bit because there is a storm headed our way and I don't know if the girls and I are fleeing or if we are going around the corner to my daddy's house. For those of you that pray please do so. We have not had a bad storm in like 38 years.

SHARE YOU ACCOMPLISHMENTS
I would like those of you that visit my blog to share your MK accomplishments. Actually I would like you to share all your accomplishments. It is so encouraging to share so that you can cheer you on. I know that some think that a Rah Rah team is not necessary well let's take a look at this.
When you go to a football game do you have a RAH RAH team? Well yes you do. When you go to a Basketball game do you have a RAH RAH team? Well yes you do. The thing here is that praise is a great motivator. I think that it is important and people like it when they do something good that people like that recognized. PRAYER
Heavenly Father, Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and was rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.
Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can’t make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.
Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together.
Heavenly Father, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not just to those who are close to us but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judgment and quick to forgiveness and patience and empathy and love.

NEW ON MARY KAY WEBSITE
GOOD MORNING!!! Well, on your MaryKay website there is a new feature that you can download your own picture and add your makeup to it to see what it will look like. I think that this is a GREAT tool. You can email or tell you customers about it and have them pick out a look or they can try all of them. I have not done it yet however this weekend I will do and and see what happens.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE NOW IT IS POLITCAL TIME
I hope that everyone had a Happy 4th of July. We need to remember the men and women serving in Iraq, either in the military or those that are working over in Iraq.
Well there have been some exciting post on another blog that I read. One was about obama and racism. And the other was about con men.
Taking the first one. I don't think that race should play a role in anything. I think that a person should get what they get on their merit. Can they do the job? Can they make the grade? I personally don't care what color of skin a person has it matters not to me. I think that the Lord made all of us. Why did He make our skin color different I don't know. I guess when we get to Heaven we can ask Him. I am not an adovcate of affirmative action. I think that it allows people to get stuff that they are not right for. I think that people should work hard and prove themselves and that is how you move up in this world.
Now for obama's flip flopping he to me is looking like a fish out of water. He better jump back in before he runs out of air. Anyway I know that all politcians do this and I think you would be careful of what you say because it will come back to haunt you. Now that he is sounding more like a republican his left wing nuts are going crazy. They thought that he would just roll with them and I think that in the end he will. Right now he is trying to get that conservative vote. Do I think he will get it? NO!! Do I think that he deserves it? NO!!
We have to look at his record in the senate he votes present more than anything else so that tells me that he is not at work. So if he is elected President is he going to go to work and is he going to take a free ride. Well, me being me I think he will take the free ride. Does he have the experience to be President? NO!!!
About the free ride...Did he get a free ride on the home that he bought? I don't know however I do think that the liberal media needs to look into that. People are losing their homes and we have politians that are getting these interest rates or they are getting a kick back from the mortage company. Someone really needs to look into that.
OK, I hear him talking about change. What change is he talking? The change from your pocket or wallet to his? I think probably that this will happen. I think that the democrats are the tax and spend.
Let's look since the democrats have taken over the House and the Senate in 2006 what has happen? The gas prices are at an all time high. Why? I will tell you it is because they will not let anyone drill in our own Country. Now I am not a tree hugger and I believe that the Lord put the oil under the ground for our use. Well we have people that think that we will disrupt the wildlife...OK now is it disrupting the human lifestyle? Well, yes it is. We in the good USA think more about animals than we do people. Ok I better not get started on this one. Anyway I say drill and we will have our own oil and that will make the dollar go up. I think that some of these politcians don't have our best interest at heart. I think that they would sell us on a dime. OK.. enough for one night. Tune in for more and please leave your comments. SLOW TIMES OR ON THE GO
GOOD MORNING!!! I just was wondering has the economy hurt your Mary Kay business. I know that mine has not slowed down. I am just wondering if any one has noticed a down turn in theirs.
I have read from many sources that the cosmetics business is on of those that is recession proof. Women are going to buy their make up. Well I know that in my hair salon that I have been busier the last month than we have been in a while. So that is good news.

NEW LOOK BOOK
What are ya'lls thoughts on the new Look Book. Do you like it? Do you prefer the other? I think that the new Look is more like a magazine, it is a good change. I do like the order sheet because now that it is longer you can put it in a binder. I know that I like to save the order sheets because you just never know when you need to look something up that may be discontinued.

Not everyone is ripped by Mary Kay. There are women that really enjoy working their business and they enjoy the as some call it "PINK FOG", I for one am grateful for it. I enjoy being around people and this is something that I like doing.
The rules of this site are you may post most anything that you want too. I will not tolerate mean spirited post. If you have a problem that you would like to discuss then by all means share and let's see if we can work through it. If you come on here just to bash without anything to back it up then please don't. I don't mind at all seeing different sides because there are different sides to everything and everyone has an opinion. I want this site to be something that will encourage men and women. I want this site to be an inspiration to all of those that come here.
I will tell you now that I am a Christian and I will post some about the Lord and the Bible.
I am also up on politics and we can have a even tempered discussion on this too.
My main objective is just to share things on life and how life the good the bad and the ugly can be discuss and hopefully will be an inspiration to all that come to read and/or post.
One other thing that I might be posting on is that I coach my daughters Volleyball team. So I might ask for inspiration or prayer or coaching tips.
